Online Classes

When you sign up for a class you’ll receive a welcome email called “Welcome to Abigail Cecile.” In that email is a link prompting you to set up your password. The email will also provide a link to your student login.

If you’ve already set up your password, click here https://abigailcecile.thinkific.com/users/sign_in or on the Class Sign In link at the top of this website. Enter your email (the email you used at checkout) and password. Once logged in you will see your class in your student area - click on it to get started!

Your student login is not the same as your customer login.

To reset either your class sign in password or your customer account password, simply click on the link below the form labeled “Forgot Password” and enter your email. An email will be sent to your inbox, follow the email instructions to reset your password. Still having trouble? Reach out to us here

Yes. Sign in to your student account, click on your name/profile in the upper right hand corner of the page, then click on “my account” from the dropdown menu. Click on “Profile” and under “Edit Profile” enter your new email address. Then click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.

You can watch your online class over and over again! You have lifetime access. For example, some of our finishing students chose to have their class running each time they finish an ornament.

Orders

If you reach out to us here and we see your email before your order has been fulfilled we can cancel or adjust your order. Our aim is to mail your order as quickly as possible, so please email us right away and we’ll do our best to catch your email before fulfillment.

Digital items are sent out immediately and can not be canceled.

We are so sorry! There’s nothing more frustrating than getting an exciting package only to find a damaged item inside.

Email us a photo of your damaged product within 3 days of receipt. After confirming the damage was inflicted before shipping, we’ll send a replacement right away.

We do not replace items damaged in transit as we offer insurance which you can claim for your package from USPS.

To file a claim:

  1. You must file a claim within 60 days of the package being sent.
  2. Save your email order receipt and email shipping notification. Contact us here if USPS requires any additional documentation.
  3. Click here to file a claim. https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm
  4. Alternatively visit your local post office for assistance.  We have found them to be extremely helpful .

If you need to update your shipping address please reach out to us ASAP! Our aim is to get your order in the mail as quickly as possible. If you reach out to us here and we read your email before your order has shipped we can change your shipping address.

If an incorrect or insufficient address is entered at checkout, you are responsible for finding the package and any additional postage that may be incurred.

To find a package: start by calling your local post office. We have found most post offices to be very kind and helpful. Sometimes an office will hold onto a package for a while, waiting for an inquiry to be made. If your local office does’t have information on your package, they will be able to instruct you on next steps for opening an inquiry and filing a claim.

Orders are returned to us when the shipping address was not entered correctly, it was insufficient, or USPS couldn’t deliver to your address. You will need to contact your local post office and find out why the package couldn’t be delivered so we can adjust your shipping information. Once we receive the package back, we will send out an invoice with additional shipping charges, correct the address, and resend your package.

We do not enter or update the shipping address you enter at checkout without your consent.  If you believe the error was on USPS you can file a claim to be refund for the shipping charges.

We are so sorry! Lost mail is very frustrating. Begin by filing a claim on the USPS website. All our packages come with insurance which you can claim (see instructions below).

Before filing a claim:

In our experience lost mail has either been overlooked in a warehouse or been sent to the wrong sorting center. The package will eventually be found, sorted correctly, and sent on its way. When a package is delayed like this, typically your tracking number will not offer updates until the package arrives at your door.We also suggest contacting your local post office. They are typically very helpful.

To file a claim:

  1. You can file a claim 15 days after the package is sent.
  2. Save your email order receipt and email shipping notification. Contact us here if USPS requires any additional documentation.
  3. Click here to file a claim. https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm Alternatively call or walk into your local post office for additional assistance.

We do! Please keep in mind that international orders may be subject to taxes, import duties, or other fees which are not collected by Abigail Cecile.

If you have a project that requires a larger piece of fabric or would like to purchase yardage, reach out to us here

All of our hand dyed velvets are dyed in-house. When restocking we do take into account customer requests. Reach out to us here, let us know what color you need, and we’ll do our best to bump it to the top of the list.

Our signature hand dyed velvets are dyed in house. They’re sometimes variegated which we don’t consider a flaw but the result of being a handmade product. Dye lots also visibly change. We do our best to ensure our product photos are an accurate representation of the velvet but due to dye lot variations and the differences between computer monitors, the velvet may not appear exactly as it was portrayed on your screen.

The majority of our velvets are hand dyed in small batches by our amazing dyer Alyson, who has been perfecting her craft over many years. We source our other fabrics from various wholesale producers. For a wider selection of Liberty of London lawn yardage, check out Duckadilly Fabrics.

I recommend cutting your finishing board a quarter inch smaller than the finished size of your canvas so that no part of the unstitched canvas shows once the ornament is completed. All our finishing boards are a quarter inch smaller than the size canvas they were created for. For example: The 4 inch round boards measure 3.75 inches.

Getting a really tight twist can be difficult! Here are a few tips.

Make sure you’ve twisted the cord enough in the initial twisting stage. To tell when you’ve twisted enough: gently release some tension on the cord, if it twists back on itself and creates little knobs in the thread then it’s ready for the next stage.

When you hold up the cord, release the cording maker, and allow the cord to twist together - once it’s twisted, make sure to catch and hold cording maker before it reverses and starts to untwist.

I like to give my cording a few extra twists at the end. Before knotting you cord or unhooking your cording maker - give the cording maker wheel a few extra turns. This will tighten the final “twist together.” Note that if you turn the wheel the wrong direction it will loosen the cord. Before removing the cording maker from the cord, tie the knot at the opposite end of the cord, securing the twist. The cord will loosen after removing the cording maker but removing the cording maker but I find that this process helps!

Try using a Lacis cording maker instead. I’ve found that Lacis cording makers create a very consistent and even cord that is a bit tighter than cords made using a Kreinik cord maker.  You can purchase here.

Yes, you can find twisted cording at craft stores like Hobby Lobby.  A well stocked fabric store will usually carry cording, especially if they carry upholstery fabric.
