Stitching Suggestions
This is a perfect little project to use up left over threads from your stash, so don't worry about matching the colors exactly. Just go for warm, cozy, earthy colors.
The squirrel design fits perfectly on a three inch background.
I think stitching a Leaf Stitch for the background would be darling! It's a detailed and textured stitch so stitch the squirrel first, then test your thread by stitching a couple full leaf stitches up against the squirrel - make sure the thread you've chosen isn't too thick and doesn't overpower the squirrel.
The Leaf Stitch is usually worked by starting on the bottom left and working up and around clockwise to finish on the bottom right.
