Tools and Supplies Resource List
With the launch of Finishing Fabrics.com we are retiring many of our most popular products.
We will continue carrying a few tool kits, a select number of supplies, our canvases and stitch guides (we will be retiring the threads), and of course our classes (with more to come!).
You’ll be able to find all of the supplies we’ll no longer be carrying at various stores. Download the Resource Guide to get the links. I've listed all the supplies and where to find them below, but if you would like direct links to those products, you'll need to download the guide.
A quick personal note
WHY are we retiring so many wonderful products? My husband and I just had our first baby. We’re just in love…and it’s been a huge transition (as I’m sure many of you know!).
I LOVE teaching, education, and designing. I love giving you the knowledge and confidence to create! Instead of developing new classes, free tutorials, and researching I’ve been too busy shipping supplies with my little buddy in tow. I have LOVED getting to supply you with those things but I miss sharing the education and designing for you.
SO be on the lookout for a new tutorials and classes coming soon! I just can’t wait to get back to sharing with you all.

Tools and Supplies List
Archival Quality Glue: Lineco Neutral pH glue is archival quality. Find it at Blick Art Supply.
Sewing Clips: There are lots of options! Clover Wonderclips are the brand name option and tend to be a little pricier. Find it at Fat Quarter Shop and other online sewing stores.
Pins: Dritz color ball pins size 20 and 1 1/4 inch size are study and a good length. Find it at Fat Quarter Shop and other online sewing stores.
Rulers: I like the Westcott Plastic Rulers (8ths graph beveled) size 1” x 6” for ornament finishing and size 1” x 12” or 2” x 12” for painting, design, and stand up finishing. Find it at Blick Art Supply
Invisible sewing thread: I use Gutermann Invisible Nylon Thread. Find it at Michaels and other sewing stores.
Lacing thread: I like to use Heavy Duty Polyester Top Stitching by Gutermann. Find it at Michaels and other sewing stores.
Archival mat board: Acid and lignin free mat board in sheets and pre-cut shapes are now sold at Finishing Fabrics.com.
Batting: I like to use polyester mid weight batting. The one we’ve carried is Soft and Bright polyester batting by the Warm Company in baby quilt size. Find it at Fat Quarter Shop and other online sewing stores.
Lacis cording maker: We will continue to carry this item!
Sharp needles: I personally use size 7 John James sharps needles. Find it at Fat Quarter Shop and other online sewing stores.
Interfacing: HeatnBond Fusible Interfacing in craft/extra firm weight. Find it at Fat Quarter Shop and other online sewing stores.
Beeswax: Conditioning invisible thread with beeswax makes sewing so much easier. Find it at Fat Quarter Shop and other online sewing stores.
Thimbles: I like a brand of thimbles called ThimblePads, though don’t use them often. Find it at Fat Quarter Shop and other online sewing stores.
Scissors: My favorite brand is Gingher! Find it at Fat Quarter Shop and other online sewing stores.
X-acto knife: I use the Excel medium duty knife for cutting mat board and foam. I use the whittling blade to cut foam. Find it at Blick Art Supply.
Curtain weights: Zinc Drapery Weights by Dritz are my favorite weights to finish stand ups. You can fidn them on the Dritz Sewing website.
Finishing fabrics: Our popular fabrics (along with new fabrics!) are now available at Finishing fabrics.com!
Canvas painting brushes: I use the Princeton select angular shader 1/4, flat shader 2, spotter 5/0, round 3/0, and chisel blender 10. Find them at Dick Art Supply.
Blank needlepoint canvas: We will continue to carry canvas!
A quick note - I’ve found and linked these items to smaller businesses where I could (as I prefer to support small business when possible). However, you can dig and find these items at the large convenient stores.
